The Khao Yai Conservation Project ran from 2000 to 2004 with the aim of reducing poaching, developing livlihood options for local residents, and monitoring wildlife within and around Khao Yai, Thailand's oldest and best known national park.

The project has been credited with increasing the capacity and professionalism of the park's protection regime, establishing systematic wildlife monitoring as a permanent management tool, and establishing environmentally and economically sustainable industries in several communities surrounding the park. In 2003, serveral aspects of the wildlife monitoring component were rolled into a carnivore conservation and monitoring project that continues to provide key information inputs into the park's protection, management, and outreach efforts.
