The Thailand tiger project is a long-term project based at Khao Nang Rum Wildlife Research Station in Huai Kha Kaeng Wildlife Sanctuary in Western Thailand. The project's primary objective is to increase the effectiveness of tiger conservation and management by better understanding the ecology of tigers in this area.
Specific project objectives include:
- Providing timely and relevant information to managers and policy-makers to improve the effectiveness of tiger conservation efforts throughout Thailand.
- Building the professional capacity of personnel both within and outside of the project to effectively conserve and monitor tiger populations and the habitats they depend on.
- Contributing to our understanding of tiger ecology through scientific investigation and dissemination of results through a variety of media and peer-reviewed journals.
